Mark Fisher

Mark Fisher has been helping schools, museums and nonprofits work with technology his entire career. As Director of IT Operations at the Exploratorium science museum in San Francisco, he managed many larger traditional IT projects (like moving the museum from the Palace of Fine Arts to Piers 15 and 17) as well as less traditional projects (like geomagnetic positioning systems and video conferencing with NOAA ships at sea).

As the founding Technology Manager of the Kiewit Luminarium in Omaha, NE, Mark developed and improved the new IT systems as well as advised on exhibit development.

Mark is a technologist, musician, photographer and a tinkerer. He has also been involved in exhibit development, special projects, and many art installations, including his own. Over his career, he has also worked at Canada College, Mills College and more.

Mark has a BA in Music and an MFA in Computer Music from Mills College. His art practice now includes multi-spectrum photography and making gizmos for photography and light-based sculptures.

Jeannette Godbey

Jeannette Godbey is an Information Technology professional who’s worked for various museums, educational institutions, and nonprofits.

During her time at the Exploratorium, she wore many hats. She was key in the development, implementation, and support of the museum's (hybrid) infrastructure. She helped the museum navigate technology challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and served on the COVID Task Force.

She’s been involved in complex projects of various scales, including IT security for visits from heads of state, moving the Exploratorium from its original location at the Palace of Fine Arts to Piers 15 and 17 on the San Francisco Embarcadero, administering and securing transaction systems, and helping the Exploratorium meet their key sustainability goals, including LEED platinum and Net Zero.

In her off hours, Jeannette explores and photographs parks and wild spaces on foot, on skis, or from cliff sides. She studied computer science at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, but her interest in the arts led to dabbling with immersive VR environments and tinkering with Raspberry Pi precursors to build interactive installations. And she ended up with dual degrees in New Media and Philosophy.
